PRODUCT FEATURES:
A chloride-free, waterproofing additive that reacts with cement and aggregate in cement-based mortar and concrete mixtures, filling capillary voids and pores.
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
Provides high waterproofing in cement-based mortars and concrete.
Does not affect the setting times of mortars and concrete.
Increases workability in cement-based mortars and concrete.
Increases resistance to freeze-thaw cycles.
Chlorine-free, non-corrosive, does not damage reinforcement.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Application surfaces must be clean, sound, and free of dust. Substances that prevent adhesion (dust, oil, etc.) should be removed, mortar-cement residues, etc., should be scraped off, and smooth surfaces should be scored. On smooth or highly absorbent surfaces, a suitable primer application (primer prepared with water-cement-aggregate) should be used to prepare the surface. Surface preparation procedures should be carried out according to the product to which the WATERPROOFING MORTAR ADDITIVE will be used. Any water leaks should be stopped, and the water level should be lowered.
Use with Ready-Mix Cement-Based Products:
The dry mix is added to the mortar additive/water mixture prepared at a ratio of 1:10, in the proportion given in the "TECHNICAL DATA SHEET" of the ready-mix product to be used. It is mixed with a low-speed mixer until no lumps remain. Application is carried out according to the information in the "TECHNICAL DATA SHEET" of the product.
Use with Plaster Prepared by Mixing Cement and Aggregate:
The plaster mortar prepared with ADD-M1 is applied in 3 or 4 layers, depending on the water pressure and the type of structure. The mortar additive/water mixture prepared at a ratio of 1:10 is added to the dry mix with cement and aggregate prepared according to the application area and mixed until no lumps remain. If the aggregate used is wet, the mortar additive/water ratio should be increased to 1:7-1:8. Between each coat, wait until the substrate begins to dry (at least 4 hours). Each coat is applied with a steel trowel to a thickness of at least 5 mm. Between coats (especially after the second coat), notching should be done to increase adhesion, and a thin layer of mortar prepared with only water or SRTFİX raw concrete primer should be applied. As a final coat, a dry mix with a cement/aggregate ratio of 1:1 should be prepared by mixing only water without adding mortar admixture, and this prepared mortar should be applied with a wooden trowel as a final plaster coat to prevent slurry residue from forming on the surface.
Use with Cement-Aggregate Mixed Floor Screed:
After applying the appropriate primer, apply 2 coats: the first coat is the adhesive layer, and the second coat is the main base layer. The adhesive layer should be at least 10 mm thick and spread with a steel trowel. The main base layer should be at least 30 mm thick and, after tamping, the surface should be leveled with a wooden trowel.
During application, the ambient and surface temperature should be between +5ºC and +30ºC. Care should be taken to ensure that the products used in the application (aggregate, cement, ready-mixed mortars, etc.) are suitable and undamaged.
Do not add only water or only mortar additive to the prepared mortar afterwards.
Do not soften the hardened/settled mixture with water or mortar additive before use.
Do not apply to unstable or problematic surfaces.
The surface must be protected from air currents, sudden temperature and humidity changes during and after application.
Do not apply to frozen, thawing, or surfaces where there is a risk of freezing within 24 hours.
SHELF LIFE
When stored in its unopened original packaging, in a dry (60% relative humidity) and cool environment (temperature between +5ºC and +25ºC), the shelf life is 12 months.
